Fort Lauderdale Museum of Science and Discovery

A kind of "Machine a Tinguely" welcome you to the entrance of this very interresting museum. Kids and bigger kids worship there to drive in a flysimulator, watch wild animals like spiders or snakes, or check your logical abilities.

With Jamal and Djems to the Cinema

I know I'm not young enough anymore to watch farytale to the cinema, but the last Harry Potter: "Deadly Hollows" seemed to be interresting. Also if the movie wasn't as good as expected we had a great time and laugh a lot.

Last Days in Boca Raton

I will surely miss the ocean after leaving Boca Raton and its beaches. Last Sunday was beautifull to appreciate one more time the fresh wind of the ocean. On the way to the church we hold by the peer to admire the lighthouse.

Miami

Miami is a worldwide known city. And so I couldn't spend 4 weeks in Florida without visiting this town. Gil, a friend of Ray, picked me up early to take the train direction Miami. People offen complain that there are no public transportation in the USA, wich is not completely true. Inside Miami we took the Bus and then the subway... We visited the Botanical Garden in the morning, and after having lunch at the end of the Art Deco Quartier, we went back to Downtown Miami to the Southern Florida Historical Museum. Thank you Gil for this interesting visit of Miami.

The pretty Church of Bethesda lay between the Intercosto and the Atlantic Ocean. It's a really romantic place. The gardens all around the church make sure that the deads rest in peace. A very pleasant place.

West Palm Beach - Flagler Museum

In the really fancy city of West Palm Beach Henri Flagler settled down in the beginning of the 20st century. At this time this spot was known as Floridas Rivieira. The Flagler Museum is actually one of the three houses of Henri Flagler. His house was the place of several bals. Inside the building, there is a room for quite anything : bal room of course, library, breakfast and dinner rooms, pooltable room, and many guest rooms.

The Keys

The Keys are Islands in the south of Florida. Many bridges have been built to connect each island. The most southern spot of the United States lay on Key west the city at the end of the Keys. "Coconuts" Charlie offered us (a german student and myself) our lunch. The coconut is a good way to avoid the hung-over... On the way back, we stopped to catch the sunset by the 7-mile Bridge...

The Everglades National Park is a paradise of nature, where birds, squirels, raicoons, aligatores and more get out of their cache. Though Ray, John a friend of Ray and me could spend our Sunday morning shooting animals (pictures) and apprciate the casual weather.

Florida International Air Show

1 mio. people over 2 days came at the Punta Gorda Army Air Field to see the pilotes ride their Aircraft in a hurry through the sky. Very loud, very fast, very impressive.

A 3-meal day in Florida

All begins with a traditional American breakfast. It's 6 in the morning and a long Sunday stand before us. Orange juice, coffee, scrambled eggs, roasted bacon and pancakes with maple syrup shall keep us fed up to the lunch.

This Sunday alligators won't feed only our eyes... A bikers snack offers us to eat their meat. In America you are not always sure of what lay in your plate. But we like  to think it is the old reptile.

At dinner we'll have fish in a very European way. A pretty restaurant beside the water makes us drool over white wine, red snapper fish, lime dessert and Cuban coffee.
